mixed girl hair: How to maintain or revive your curls

mixed hair is beautiful embrace your curls. i know its difficult so i put  some tips together on how to have amazing mixed hair hope u enjoy !!

1. STOP straightening your hair. What ppl fail to tell you is the more you straighten your hair the faster it dies and eventually all falls out and you look horrible. If you must use heat on your hair use it at a lower setting and put enough heat protectant in your hair to save it it. Chi is a great iron and it has a great heat protectant conditioner to use with it.
2. CONDITION it like crazy. If you are like me you wash your hair then it gets dry. You need a kick ass leave in conditioner or creme that will moisturize it. Without it your hair will break and you will wake in the mornings and half of your hair will be on your pillow starring up at you.
3. KEEP THE WEAVE OUT! Mixed girls. We do not need weave. First of all weave will pull your hair out. It also keeps you from actually washing it the way you need to. If you need to do anything wear a lace front wig and call it a day or even better a novel idea JUST WEAR YOUR OWN HAIR. Clip in extensions are fine as well.
4. Watch the elements. Keep the sun off it. If you are gonna be outside for a long time wear a hat or scarf or just wear a serum in your hair that has sunscreen in it. If you swim a lot deep condition your hair or wear a cap in the pool.
5. Wash your hair every other day. This will keep it from getting too oily and keep the dandruff to a low. BUT do not use a shampoo with sulfate in it. WHY? Because it will strip the hair and eventually strip the curly texture and leave it looking sad and flat. Use a light sulfate free shampoo every other wash. Pair it with a deep conditioner and leave in. Also watch what ingredients are in your products alcohols and other certain ingredients are a big No No.
6. Brush your hair and wrap it. Before bed brush your hair a lot. Not hard just light enough to get the conditioning product throughout. Then wrap it in the certain braided style that will give you pretty curls in the morning.
7. STEAM your hair. To help with damage and so on put in a deep hair mask I suggest Hair Growth Treatment by: Lee Stafford or Macadamia deep repair mask. Get a pot of water and heat it up 3 to 5 minutes. Put a medium sized towel in it and ring out out then wrap the conditioned hair in it turban style. Leave on 5 to 15 minutes then rise off.
8. MINT. Products with mint in them will soothe your scalp and help with build up. It also opens up your pores allowing your hair to grow through. It may sting if you stratch a lot though so be warned. Dr. Miracle is good As well as Seabreeze. But only use seabreeze about once a week because it has alcohol in it and thus can be too harsh if you use it too often.
9. DO NOT PERM YOUR HAIR. I know a lot of girls who get perms and then want to look crazy when they cannot achieve that natural curl any longer. Perms are too harsh and may ruin your natural texture. Also watch what your hair stylist uses. Certain products may work for one type of hair but not on mixed girls hair. Do your research on the tools and products they recommend because they will f*** up your hair when they don’t understand it.
10. Trim it every 6 months that is a given.
